Winter Noon - Silk aquatint and collagraph on Rives BFK

The practice of art in any medium which I have tried has always been non-verbal - I do not start with the aim of depicting a narrative. My work is abstract though sometimes suggests views through or great distance or space below the surface. I enjoy collage since it allows me to combine disparate materials but always with the challenge of creating a whole. I continue to explore the basic elements of composition and color and am inspired by landscape, aerial photography, industrial shapes and textures, translucence, reflections, ambiguity of space, and the transformative quality of light.
